The Design for Sustainability and Regeneration course, equips participants with the tools and knowledge to design sustainable projects, communities, and ecosystems, contributing to co-create regenerative cultures. Based on the Gaia Education 4D Framework, the course explores sustainability and regeneration through four interconnected dimensions: Social, Ecology, Economy, and Worldview.
Through a combination of theoretical and experiential learning, participants will dive into each of these dimensions and engage in a field trip to explore sustainable initiatives in the region.
This program, certified by Gaia Education as a Mini-EDE, is a short version of the Ecovillage Design Education Programme (EDE), adapted to the University as a Summer course. It will take place in the Summer Peacebuilding Institute (SPI) at the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding - Eastern Mennonite University.
This Mini-EDE programme, offered in partnership with Eastern Mennonite University, marks a historic milestone: the first adaptation and delivery of an Ecovillage Design Education (EDE) within a U.S. University!
Facilitated by Taisa Mattos. Co-facilitated by Joe Cole and Bruce Horowitz.
The course includes a visit to Twin Oaks Community.
