Programme Description
We warmly welcome you to join this comprehensive training, based in The Park ecovillage and Findhorn Foundation community.
All the tools you need to take action – in one course!
The Findhorn EDE provides a forum for learning and developing skills needed to work effectively with cultural change on many levels – including facilitation practice, personal development skills, practical design theory and its application.
We place an emphasis on design tools & skills applied through an action learning design team experience. This design team format provides you with an opportunity to develop your design, facilitation and collaboration skills. Sociocracy, the organisational structure and design-making method gaining popularity in communities and social enterprise is embedded in the course to give you an opportunity to practice that too.
Explored throughout the course are the interdependent dimensions of Social, Ecological, Economic and Worldview – the Four Pillars of Sustainability in Gaia Education. They provide a comprehensive overview of leading edge thinking and practice, promoting regenerative sustainable futures.
Findhorn
The Findhorn Ecovillage is a synthesis of some of the very best of current thinking on sustainable human settlements. It is a constantly evolving model used as learning environment by a number of university and school groups as well as by professional organisations and municipalities worldwide.
How to run an EDE?
Several of our EDE graduates have carried on organising EDE programmes in their local areas, and you are warmly encouraged to do so after completing your course.
The recommended time frame of an EDE is four weeks, however this is not fixed and varies with each individual programme.
The material can be condensed into smaller workshops, spread out over a longer period, or distributed in blocks at different times and locations.
