Leandro Basil
Writer, Educator and Cultural Producer, since adolescence, Leandro has been developing ideas for creating a sustainable and socially just world.
Author of several plays, songs and poems, he acted in the production of ecological events and became one of the founders, in 2005, of Aldeia da Mata Atlântica, an ecovillage in the interior of the state of Rio de Janeiro where he develops Permaculture projects and Education for Sustainability.
He has worked for 12 years in the application of sustainable projects in schools, he has been professor of Sociology of the state network of Rio de Janeiro since 2015 and director of Instituto Gaia Sustentável since 2012.
He proposes, through the Institute, the development of Sustainable Learning Communities and the creation of more inclusive and fair social and economic systems.
Through theatre, he has developed performance skills that dialogue with new participatory and cooperative pedagogies, opening doors to eco-pedagogical games for children, youth and adults.
